Our tips for motorcycle travel in Corsica
1. Preparing the itinerary
Plan your itinerary around emblematic routes, such as the Défilé de la Scala di Santa Regina, the west coast between Ajaccio and Calvi, or the roads of the Alta Rocca.
Plan short stages: Corsican roads are winding and can be demanding, especially in mountainous areas.
2. Choose the right period
May to September is ideal for the climate, but the high season (July-August) can be very busy. Choose spring or autumn to avoid the crowds.
Avoid winter, as some mountain roads may be impassable.
3. Know the particularities of Corsican roads
The roads are often narrow, winding and lined with precipices, so drive carefully.
Free-roaming animals (goats, cows) are common on rural roads. Be careful, especially on bends.
4. Book accommodation in advance
In high season, we recommend booking hotels and campsites in advance, especially in tourist areas.
5. Explore local specialities
Don’t miss Corsica’s gastronomy, with products such as charcuterie, cheese (brocciu) and local specialties like veal with olives.
