A truly free GPS app, with no empty promises
At 68°, free really means free. Unlike most other specialist GPS apps, we put no barriers in the way of route planning and navigation, even in the free version. Thousands of kilometres, unlimited waypoints, as many stops as you like, and more. Create for free… and navigate for free.
The app is funded through several complementary sources, including partner bookings, printed roadbooks and guides, and premium offers for those who want to go further.
The Premium version is for travellers looking for more comfort when creating routes and in day-to-day use of the app. It gives you access to additional tools, without compromising our founding principle: making tourist route planning and navigation accessible to as many people as possible.
Fully functional, with no limits on time, territory, etc.
More comfort and VIP service!

(1) Route planning
Almost all touring and travel apps—whether for motorbike, van, or car—impose limits in their free version, and sometimes even in their paid version: a restricted number of stops, a limited maximum distance, reduced accessible areas, and so on. With 68°, there are no limits on route planning, whether you use the free or paid version. You can create routes with thousands of waypoints or stops, over thousands of kilometres, across all regions covered by the app.
(2) Navigation
As with route planning, navigation with 68° has no limitations. Whether you use the free or paid version, you can navigate freely from your smartphone, tablet, Android Auto, or Apple CarPlay, with no restrictions based on the device you use.
(3) Points of interest
Whether you use the free or paid version, you’ll find everything you need in the 68° app to prepare your adventure: a travel guide with over 10,000 places to discover, nearly 100,000 accommodations offering road-trip-friendly services, plus restaurants, bars, and all the useful services you need when you’re on the road.
(4) Address search
In the free version, you need to know the exact address of the place you’re looking for. In the paid version, you get Google address search, which lets you find a place by simply entering its name. For example, in the free version, if you’re looking for the IBIS hotel in Le Puy-en-Velay, you need to enter its full address: 47 Bd Maréchal Fayolle, 43000 Le Puy-en-Velay. With Google search, you just type IBIS Puy-en-Velay to find your hotel directly.
(5) Technical support
Even though the 68° app is particularly robust, no one is ever completely safe from a misunderstanding, a temperamental smartphone, or a bug. To help you in these situations, 68° offers a service that’s almost unique worldwide: a direct chat with our team. While most apps offer little—or no easy way—to contact them when you run into trouble, our team is available via chat on business days. Premium subscribers also get priority support, with assistance available at weekends too.
(6) Mobile and desktop version
In the paid version, you can create your routes on mobile, but also directly on a computer, for more comfortable planning and much more complete features—especially for travel: merging routes, advanced GPX export, printing roadbooks, and more.
(7) GPX file import
Whether you’re on the free or paid version, you can import your GPX files automatically or manually. In manual mode, the app displays the GPX track on screen and you can simply redraw the route over it. In automatic mode, the app tries to convert your GPX into a 68° route automatically. This can sometimes cause issues, because GPX files aren’t always reliable or built the same way depending on the apps or GPS devices used. In the free version, if the automatic conversion causes a problem, the app will tell you and you can switch to manual mode. In the Premium version, you simply send your GPX to the 68° team, who will convert it for you and fix any file-related issues. There’s a reason our paid version is called Premium!
(8) 68° routes
All routes offered in the 68° app have been created and checked by professionals. That way, you avoid nasty surprises—like ending up on a goat track with a vehicle that’s completely unsuitable. In the free version, you have access to day and weekend routes, up to 600 km. In the paid version, you also get week-long routes and long-distance trips.
